The new BMW 7 series

BMW has unveiled its fifth generation BMW 7 Series. Combining sheer driving pleasure and unrivalled luxury, BMW’s new flagship model is a technological tour-de-force with a number of BMW innovations making their debut.

BMW Group New Zealand Managing Director, Mark Gilbert, said that the new BMW 7 Series is the absolute pinnacle of automotive engineering.

The new BMW 7 Series epitomises everything that BMW stands for in terms of outstanding performance and driving dynamics, unrivalled luxury and class-leading fuel-efficiency,� said Mr Gilbert.

Due to launch internationally later this year, the BMW 7 Series introduces a number of ground-breaking new BMW innovations. Integrated rear-wheel steering on the new BMW 7 Series offers a new dimension in comfort, agility and driving stability while BMW’s newly developed Dynamic Damping Control and Dynamic Driving Control allow the driver to vary suspension, steering and throttle settings.

The new BMW 7 Series also sees the introduction of a new generation iDrive control concept, raising the standard in terms of ergonomics, efficiency and functions for optimum control of the car. A wide range of innovative comfort and entertainment options also make their debut including an audio system with hard disc memory.

A range of unique driver assistance systems on the BMW 7 Series such as cruise control with Stop & Go, Lane Departure Warning, speed limit indicator, Lane Change Warning, Head-Up Display, High-Beam Assistant and enhanced BMW Night Vision position this vehicle at the forefront of automotive technology.

Two engine variants, the twin-turbo V8 BMW 750i and the six-cylinder BMW 730d, will be launched in New Zealand with a long wheel-base version, the BMW 750Li, also available.
